Using This Site

The award-winning Between the Lions Web site offers tons of expert-approved games, stories, video clips, and activities—all aimed at reinforcing the literacy mission of the series.

The games focus on a variety of educational areas, as do the video clips, which are taken from the shows. The stories—featuring everything from new books to old folk tales to original and classic yarns—introduce kids to a wide variety of storytelling methods and subject matters. Accompanying each story is a story-specific game to extend either the vocabulary or phonics found in the story itself.

The site—with its simple, audio-enhanced navigation—is designed to be navigated and enjoyed by young kids on their own. Of course, kids visiting the site with adults will benefit from that, too, as it's always fun to travel (and Web surf) with a friend.

This site has two main areas: the Kids area and a Parents & Teachers section, which houses lots of information about the program and the Web site. An area of special note is Lions To Go, featuring free downloadable songs, stories, and more.

Use the navigation at the top and left side of every page to get around. If you're lost, try visiting our site map.

You will need the Flash plug-in to enjoy most of our games, and to get around the site. For some of our games, Shockwave is needed. To access the PDFs on the site, you'll need Adobe Reader. To view our video clips and stories, you will need either QuickTime or Windows Media Player.

If you're having trouble with any of our interactive features, visit our extensive Help section. Here you will find technical assistance, FAQ, and information on how to contact us if your question is not answered in either of those two areas.
